SA: Offenders can't hide under new border laws
ADELAIDE, Feb 3 AAP - Police in South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern
Territory will be able to chase offenders across state borders under new laws.
South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson said on Tuesday the Cross Border
Justice Bill to go to state parliament this week would close the legal loophole that allowed
offenders to evade the long arm of the law by crossing a state border.
Similar legislation was passed recently in Western Australia and was expected to pass
the NT parliament later this month.
