Qld: Trial of locator beacons for bushwalkers

BRISBANE, Jan 15 AAP - The Queensland government will trial hiring Personal LocatorBeacons (PLBs) to bushwalkers in one of the state's most popular parks so they can befound quickly if they get lost.

A working party of police, emergency services and the Queensland Parks and WildlifeService today decided on the trial in the Lamington National Park, south-west of Brisbane,following the death of a bushwalker last June.
