NSW: Former Bardot manager sues Popstars creators for sacking

The former manager of Bardot, GRANT THOMAS, claims the creators of reality show Popstars
had no idea how to work within the music industry.

But Popstars producers, Screentime, say MR THOMAS mismanaged their pop group creation
and missed opportunities to capitalise on their success.

MR THOMAS is suing Screentime and fellow Popstars producers, Australian Media and Sport
and Five Divas, in the NSW District Court.

He's claiming $750,000 for breach of contract and lost earnings he says he would have
made from the band.

The all-female band spawned from the reality television talent quest had a number one
hit with their debut single Poison in April 2000.

The five member group disbanded in April 2002 after the release of their second album.

The hearing continues tomorrow.
